Auto level
“Auto level” is applied to all audio that is imported into the workspace.

Auto level - manual
Ctrl + L“Manual Auto level” is used for letting Hindenburg adjust the levels on selected audio.

Selection in & out
Ctrl 1 & Ctrl 2To edit audio you need to select an area for editing. This can be used cutting out words, copying audio or any other edit you can think of.

Region "Handles"
A region can be manipulated in a number of ways; gain, trim and fade.

Zoom in & out
Ctrl + plus/minus or Ctrl + mousewheelZoom in to see more details and zoom out to get a better overview.

Zoom - selection
Ctrl + H“Zoom selection” is used when zooming in on a specific area of the audio.

Zoom -track height
Shift + Ctrl + Plus & Minus“Zoom Track Height” is used to make the tracks larger or smaller.

Split
Ctrl + B“Split” or “Break” is used to separate a region. This can be used to quickly select areas that later can be removed or moved.

Split - selection

Delete- region
Delete"Delete/clear - region” is used when editing out audio. In this case an entire region. Use this for removing entire blocks of audio.

Cut - selection
Ctrl + X"Cut selection" is used when editing out a selection of audio. This could be a single word, a breath or a sentence.

Cut - region
Ctrl + X"Cut region” is used when editing out audio. In this case an entire region. Use this for removing entire blocks of audio. This could be a single sentence, an entire interview or an audio bed.

Copy
Ctrl + C“Copy” will add the selection to the program memory and can be pasted or inserted later. This can be used to copy a breath or ambience.

Paste
Ctrl + V"Paste” is used when placing audio in on top of existing audio This can be used to replace sections of the current audio.

Paste in selection
Ctrl + V"Paste in selection" is used when placing audio in a selection. This can be used for adding ambience or music to a specific area.

Insert
Ctrl + I"Insert" is used when inserting audio in front of existing audio. This can be used to move words and sentences in front of the current audio.

Replace
Shift + Ctrl + V "Replace" is used to replace audio. This can be used to replace for example a short breath with a longer breath.

Duplicate
Ctrl + D"Duplicate" is used to duplicate a region or selection. This can be used for for making music loops or duplicating ambience.

Volume - duck
Shift + Ctrl + arrow up/down “Duck” is typically used for “ducking” music under narration. This can also be used for ambient beds or voice over

Volume - bedding
Shift + Ctrl + arrow up/down “Audio bedding” is typically used for “bedding” ambience under a narration or interview

Fade
Ctrl + F“Fades” are used for making smooth transitions from one piece of audio to another - or for gently bringing in ambience or music.

Fade - slope
Shift + Drag“Fade slope” is used to make a more gradual fade.

Fade - multi regions
Ctrl + F“Fade over multiple regions” is used to create a single fade over small regions. This could be ambience or edited music.

Fade - cross fade
Ctrl + F“Cross Fade” is used for making a transition from one sound to another on the same track.

Fade - cross fade point
Ctrl + mouse“Cross Fade point” is the cross section of the fade. It can be moved to fit the fade point better.

Fade - multitrack
Ctrl + F“Multi track Fade” is used for adding the same fade for more than one track.

Insert silence
Ctrl + right arrow“Insert Silence” is used to insert room into the edit.

Delete silence
Ctrl + left arrow“Delete Silence” is used to delete blank room in the edit.

Edit silence
“Edit silence” is used for moving regions in the workspace

Select - region
Click regionSelect a region to edit the entire region. Add fades or any edit function, like Cut, Copy & Paste.

Select - regions
Ctrl + Click regionSelect multiple regions for editing. Cut, Copy & Paste or move the regions around

Select - more regions
Shift + Click region“Expand region selection” is used for adding additional regions to a selection. Use this for adding an edit to all regions

Select - regions on track

Transport
The transport bar can be used to navigate in the audio

Play
SpacebarThe Spacebar is used starting the playback

Stop
SpacebarThe Spacebar is used for stopping the playback

Rewind & Forward
Arrow Left & arrow rightUse the arrow keys left & right to run trough the audio

Next / Previous event
Page up & Page downJump to the next event. This could be the next splice or marker

Next / Previous region
Shift + arrow keys left & rightJump to the next region event. This shortcut will also highlight the region under the playhead

Tracks up & down
Arrow key up & downNavigate between the tracks with the up & down arrow keys
Arm track
Shift + RPrepare a track for recording. This identifies the track that you wish to record on.

Record
Ctrl + SpacebarBegin recording on a track

Play selection
Shift + spacebarCreate a selection and let the playback loop

Rehearse
Ctrl + Shift + SpacebarListen to the end result of an edit before you do the actual editing

Preroll
P Preroll will set the playhead back a few seconds and playback the audio from that point

Scrub JKL

Effects
You can add effects to you track, like equalization, compression or other effects

Effects - Equalization
An equalizer is an effect for filtering the audio. Use this to add treble og bass to the audio or remove unpleasant frequencies in the audio

Compression is used to limit the dynamic range of the audio.

Effects - Loudness meter
The EBU R-128 Loudness meter will give you a readout of the realtime loudness measurements on the current track

Effects - BBC meter
The BBC meter is true to the original meters that are traditionally used by the BBC

Apply any VST plugin to the track

Remove any an effect from the effect bin

Markers
Alt + Ctrl + MThe Markers View is the where you can see, rename and move to marker point

Ctrl + EnterMarkers are used for quick navigation in the session

ctrl + 3 - 0Set the Markers 3 - 0 with the shortcut. Use the 3 - 0 keys to later navigate to the markers.

CuePoint
