NPR's RAD is a method of measuring consumption data for podcasts
RAD works by podcast producers adding specific time markers (‘RAD markers') to things they want consumption data on - a story, an ad or a section.
RAD-aware podcast players send data back to publishers and podcast hosts. From the statistics it’s possible to see how many people have heard those bits of your podcast.
NPR (National Public Radio) have specified the RAD standard. It is currently being rolled out and has already be adopted by many of the industry leading podcast players and hosts.
Podtrac, Acast, AdsWizz, ART19, Awesound, Blubrry Podcasting, Panoply, Omny Studio, Podtrac, PRX, RadioPublic, Triton Digital, Libsyn and WideOrbit have already announced that they will support the RAD tag.
